WANT TO VOLUNTEER? WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at the Engler Center for the Performing Arts! We have several opportunities available for our volunteers to share their time and talents. Please see a brief description of the areas we are often looking for help. To sign-up, scan the QR Code provided to the right or click the following link - https://forms.gle/2r83S6HkSLyfipXWA

USHER - Greet patrons as they enter the center, hand out programs, help patrons to their seats if they need assistance, open and close doors to the center, and check the seats for anything left behind. Ushers arrive about 45-50 minutes prior to the show/program's start time and stay about 15 minutes after the show/program ends.  Provided there are available seats, our ushers will receive one seat for themselves, free of charge, at the show(s) in which they volunteer.

TICKET SELLER - Sell tickets at our box office in the commons. Will handle cash, check, and card payments. Ticket Sellers arrive 70 minutes prior to the start of the show/program and stay through the intermission. Provided there are available seats, our ticket sellers will receive one seat for themselves, free of charge, at the show(s) in which they volunteer.

SET CONSTRUCTION - Helps with the construction of our district musical sets. The general design comes from the directors and you collaborate with them to make their design come to life. This volunteer will work directly with student crew members and therefore, will require a background check.

STRIKE - Helps with the strike (take-down) of the set for our district musical sets, saving some pieces and discarding others. Saving and discarding calls are decided by our directors and PAC Director. These volunteers arrive at the end of the final performance to start helping. Strike generally takes anywhere from 2 hours to 3.5 hours but the more help we have, the faster it goes. Knowing how to use tools is a plus but not necessary for this position.

SCENE SHOP HELP - These volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with moving items around in the scene shop to make room for new set pieces, move pieces to get to other pieces, or to discard of pieces we no longer need. Set pieces can be heavy so these volunteers should be able to lift, move, and carry heavy weights. These volunteers are overseen by the PAC Director.

COSTUME/PROP CLOSET HELP - These volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with cleaning and re-organizing costumes and props. They will occasionally help the PAC Director go through donations, take inventory, and get rid of items that are no longer needed. These volunteers are overseen by the PAC Director.

If you have any questions for any of these volunteer positions, please email the PAC Director, Jenie Farrell, at farrellj@chiltonsd.org or call the office at (920)849-2880.

Thank you so much for your time and willingness to help!
