Special message regarding Matilda, presented by CCCT

"To our valued audiences, community members, and performers,

Following an extension of Wisconsin's Safer at Home order and in consideration of state and federal government and public health official guidance, CCCT's summer 2020 production of 'Matilda' has been canceled. We hoped we could come to you today with more exciting news, but after closely following the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the last few weeks, we hope that you can understand why this decision had to be made.

At this point in a normal year, various parts of our show would be well underway. Our production staff was gracious with their flexibility up to this point, working with us to accommodate alternative methods of kicking off our production. However, the reality now is that the Safer at Home order and the effects of this pandemic will continue well into the future, impacting our normal schedule and operations in many ways.

On a more personal level, 'Matilda' is a show that would have involved participants of varying ages. We did not want our actors/actresses and the parents of our actors/actresses to be faced with an uncomfortable decision choosing between participating in group rehearsals and the possibility of unknowingly contracting the virus and spreading it to their family and friends, especially now that schools remained closed for similar reasons. Likewise, we did not want our audience members to feel uncomfortable attending our performances this summer.

While things could certainly improve and get back to normal early this summer (we sure hope they do), we also wanted to make a timely decision in consideration of all those normally involved in producing or attending our shows. That being said, if things do clear up, we are looking at other experiences we could provide our participants and audiences later this year, so stay tuned!

Wishing you a continued safe and healthy spring and summer,

Calumet County Community Theatre

Congratulations to Chilton School District, Music Department, and the Community!

Chilton School District’s Music Education Program Receives National Recognition for 7th consecutive year.

Chilton School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) designation from The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. This award is given to recognize the commitment of community leaders, school administration, parents, and teachers who believe in music education and are working to ensure that it is part of a complete education for all children. To receive a BCME designation, a community must demonstrate a commitment to providing access and high standards for music education.

Congratulations to the Chilton School District and community, your support of music education in our community has earned this honor!

Following the closure of school buildings for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, our doors will be closed through June 30th, 2020. Rest assured!
